The Kiwanis Club’s 12th Annual Jim Fischer-Skip Carr Memorial Birthday Bash attracted more than 200 generous, community-minded folks to the Isla Del Sol Yacht Club & Country Club on June 4th.
Since 2004, the Fischer-Carr Scholarship Fund has continued Jim and Skip’s legacy by providing college scholarships to 264 students (prior to this year’s event), and the Birthday Bash has been the primary vehicle for raising those funds.
Highlights of the Birthday Bash included a “Thank you” talk from 6th grader and scholarship recipient Jah’ Nashia Whitehead and the auctioning of a soon to be born labradoodle puppy.

The big crowd bid generously on the many silent auction items.
I got to hang out with friends and serve as auctioneer.
Bayprint provided invitation design and printing, addressing, and mailing, in addition to designing and printing the auction program booklets and all related promotional graphics such as posters and signs.
Plus, along with members of the event committee, we stored, cataloged, and decorated auction items donated by Kiwanis members.
It was a great evening, and the best part was that we raised nearly $50,000.
Our next Fischer-Carr fundraiser will be the golf tournament, coming up later this summer. Stay tuned!
