The Tampa Bay Clutch Hitters, in conjunction with the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America, held their 5th annual Rays Awards Luncheon on October 2nd. The sold out event attracted 430 invited guests and raised $27,500 for the Rays Foundation.
As with the previous four luncheons, Bayprint was chosen to handle design, layout, production, and installation of all graphics and signs (including the big check).
John Higgins, the Rays’ very first employee, who currently serves the Rays as Sr. Vice President and General Counsel, presented the 2015 Clutch Hitter Award to the Rays’ first owner, Vince Naimoli. Player awards for the 2015 season included:
- Logan Forsythe – Don Zimmer MVP Award
- Nathan Karns – Outstanding Rookie
- Chris Archer – Paul C. Smith Champion Award, presented to the player who “best exemplifies the spirit of true professionalism on and off the field.”
