Thank Bright Wood Works for a Picture-Perfect Night at the Opera

For the past 15 years, the Baron Gala has been St. Petersburg Catholic High School’s major social event for alumni, parents, grandparents, past parents and friends of the school. This year’s gala was another magical success, and Bayprint got to play a part, thanks to our old friend and collaborator, Michael Bright of Bright Wood Works.

Michael is the father of a St. Petersburg Catholic High School student and wanted to add a special touch to the event. As the theme for this year’s gala was A Night at the Opera, Michael asked us to create some large caricature stand-up opera singers for the event. We secured the images, printed them and mounted them to ½” rigid foam board, per Michael’s specifications. He built the stands to hold them, and the result was some great graphics for the gala.

The event was very successful, and the stand-up characters were a big hit.

The project was a lot of fun for Bayprint, as you can imagine. And collaborating with Michael was as much fun as it has been whenever we’ve had the opportunity to work together over the past 30 years or so.

And that character standing up on his own in the photo? That’s Michael Bright, of course.
