If you enjoy reading these articles, you’ve probably noticed that I like to share our coolest projects. This one qualifies for two reasons:
- There were several creative and technical challenges to overcome
- The final product is way cool, just as planned
Our client’s marketing department created a unique design to clearly identify the company’s Technical Command Center.
Bayprint reviewed the design and recommended how best to achieve the finished look the client wanted to achieve, including having the front piece of the design backlit.
After receiving the client’s go-ahead, we printed the rear panel (with the circuit board look) on a 40” x 60” clear, ¼” thick piece of acrylic.
On the front panel, the letters were masked out and the front and edges were painted opaque blue.
A low-voltage strip of LED lights was installed on the back perimeter of the Front Panel to allow bright light to shine through the masked letters area as well as to "glow" around the edges of the front panel.
The stunning effect is exactly as envisioned.
And now, anyone who approaches the Raymond James Technical Command Center — from which all firm technical activity is monitored 24/7 — knows exactly where they are.
